Long-term assignment: Book Project #3 is due Monday, March 29 (A book talk, book letter, book report alternative are required, as explained in the packet I handed out the second week of school. There's a copy of those directions in a pdf attachment near the bottom of this web page.) February 9, 2010- After today's daily language (quiz tomorrow, so study), students used the school's laptops to type up their film reviews of Charly. They are supposed to have three classmates evaluate their typed review, then revise it and hand in everything on Thursday (written rough draft, first typed draft, three evaluations, revision (on top), and assignment sheet (on bottom). February 8, 2010- After today's daily language, students worked on their film reviews of Charly. Tomorrow students will type up their reviews on the school computers, then evaluate each other's papers before doing a final revision due Thursday. February 5, 2010- We had a reading workshop today with Mrs. Corigliano. Students can write a book letter on today's reading for up to 15 points added to their grade. February 4, 2010- Our film-viewing continued today, so we finished Charly in Period 5/6 and 7/8, but Period 2 will finish on Monday. The movie review is due next Tuesday. Tomorrow we'll have a Reading Workshop with Mrs. Corigliano (I still have Grand Jury duty). We'll finish the film and begin writing movie reviews- rough draft due Tuesday. February 3, 2010- We continued viewing the film Charly today. Students were supposed to take notes for their movie review which is due next Tuesday. February 2, 2010- We began viewing the film Charly based on "Flowers for Algernon." Students were given directions for writing a movie review which will be due next Tuesday. February 1, 2010- The third quarter begins today. After the daily language, students wrote down their goals for the third quarter in their journals. Afterwords, we discussed the "Flowers for Algernon" homework and took a quiz on the story. Homework: finish your journal. | |||||||||
